Let's face it -- car repair is often very expensive, stressful, and most inconvienient. Some folks consider their cars their "baby". We've all heard (or experienced) horror stories of car repair rip-offs and repairs gone bad. So who do you trust with your car repairs? Which places have, in your experience, earned your trust and treated you well? I'll start off -- maybe we can help some folks...
For suspension and alignment-related stuff I think Bonebrake Alignment is the best there is. For over 20 yerars those guys have done everything from basic alignments to suspension collision repair for me with great results. They know their stuff.
For general repairs I have had good luck with Keplinger's Automotive. On 2 occasions they have recommended repair options that save me money over more expensive options. They could have made more money off of me -- but chose honesty instead. And the repairs were done on-time, at the estimated cost, and well. The shop is clean, modern, and well-run.
Others?

I personally use the dealer. Younger Toyota has ALWAYS been fair, prompt, courteous and corrected any problems with the vehicle the first time. I pay a little more, but to me it's worth it. Hagerstown Ford has also been very good.
I have occasionally used an independent shop. Lanny's on West Washington Av next to the County Commuter headquarters has been exceptional. It's a little hole in the wall place but Lanny and Lanny Jr are probably the most honest people on the face of the earth.
My office uses Keplinger's for all their automotive needs, and I have not heard any complaints. Although, at times, they have not been entirely prompt with working on the vehicles.

Top notch...The owner I think his name is Denny will drive your car before and after the alignment to make sure it's the best job done.
When I lifted my Cherokee all suspension lift the caster and toe was way out of wack from the lift.Took it to Bonebrakes and never had one problem with it or tire wear.
Anything else I will try to do myself. If it's over my head I will take it to a dealer mechanic I know who does work on the side.
Body work-Blaine's Body Shop in Hagerstown kinda one of those "little hole in the wall places" but I guess it keeps the overhead down.Best prices and TOP NOTCH body and paint work.

I tried Bonebrakes since so many of you like it. Problem was, I tried to get through all day and it was always busy. So I ended up at Firestone and had it done while I was getting my new tires. Maybe next time.

I TRIED to make an appointment, Greedy! I got nothing but a busy signal all day! I can't spend my entire life trying to get through to them, so I went where they answered the phone.

We talked about auto repair shops, now how about motorcycles? Where is a good place to get an inspection or some repair work on a motorcycle?

Well, any flavor. I imagine some shops are brand-specific or experts at a particular brand, though.

I have taken a bike there 2 or 3 times. He needs to get some help he's usually backed-up and slow.
I also know a guy that works for a Suzuki stealership that does work on the side.
He just saved me about $150-$175 on some service.

I haven't needed any engine or mechanical
work on my vehicles...I can do most of it
myself, but for body shop work, we've taken
two of my wife's vehicles to Porterfield's
Collision Center on Rt. 45 in Martinsburg...their
work seemed OK...someone mentioned Younger's
Toyota...well, their service writers are nice
but we took the wife's '02 Camry back 4 times
trying to get the power window fixed on
the driver's door....I've had great service at
Hamilton Nissan on my truck the two times
it's been there...

A couple of years ago I got 3 deer in 1 year. Peckie's Body Shop in McConnellsburg, PA is the BEST!
