I rented Vol. 1 over the weekend and loved it, so I made it point to see Vol. 2 at the theaters. I liked both very much. Thumbs up. If you aren't into movie violence and gore, don't see it, obviously.

I rented Vol. 1 and thought it was OK. Good enough that I'll rent Vol. 2 when it's out. Pulp Fiction is still my favorite Tarentino movie though. As for the violence, it was definately over the top, but in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way (to me at least), if that makes sense.

I get what you mean. The blood spurting was about the same as someone spraying a garden hose.

Too funny. My favorite part was when she was slamming the door over and over on that guy's head.

Gene Shalit said about Kill Bill, "After seeing Kill Bill, I'd wish they'd kill me!"

I nearly fell out of my chair the first time I saw what was written on the back of that big truck she took from the hospital. Funny stuff!

It was intended to be uber-fake like that, which is what I thought made it actually less gory than the media has made it out to be. If you've ever watched old Samurai movies, the special effects weren't very realistic, so this is the way Tarantino paid homage to the old movies. I loved that touch and the way that sort of humor is inspired. (As a matter of fact, I also heard somewhere that the swordfighting scene in Volume 2 between Darryl Hannah and Uma Thurman was partially inspired by Jackass!)
Something that irked me though is that the Cantonese subtitling in Volume 2 took a lot of liberties and wasn't all that accurate (at least, according to my Chinese-American husband). I think that some of the expressions just don't have a lateral English translation.

Anyone see Big Fish? I rented it over the weekend and was disappointed.

I just got done watching Vol. 2. It was less crazy violence and more story. It's worth a rental if you liked the first one at all.

Kill Bill was unreal. One of my favorite moovys, but I still haven't seen Vol. 2. I'll buy them both eventually. The violence was more artistic than gorey I thought.
When I watched Big Fish, I thought it was the most intriguing moovy I'd ever seen and thought it was the coolest thing ever. I saw it a second time and realized I only liked it because the state of mind I watched it in the first time. I will buy it eventually also.
Tarantino said there will probably be a Kill Bill Vol. 3 involving The Bride's daughter in many years. I haven't seen Vol. 2 so I cannot give input into that rumor.

I'm still petitioning to start a new dictionary for the English language. I wand sum werds 2 look funner whin thay R spelt in English.
The origin of my stoopit = stupid and moovy = movie are just a result of bad AOL IM talk that transferred into my mainstream spellings I guess. It's just a habit now.

I've seen a couple of forums where txt spk will get you booted.
Our language gets abused enough in the verbal form, now we have to have the written word assaulted?
