Like Heather I am beginning to wonder if anyone who visits this forum reads books.

I just finished a good one. The author's name is Liam Hearn. It's book one of a series. I hope to pick up the second one today.

It's sort of a fantasy based on feudal Japan.

I have Split Second but haven't read it yet.

What kind of fantasy?

Well, the author starts out by saying that it is loosely based on medieval Japan. It is about three fiefs controlled by three warring clans. There is a fourth group called the Tribe who are spies and assassins and work for whoever pays best. They don't necessarily take sides. The Tribe consists of 3 or 4 families each of whom have certain unusual talents and abilities at aid them in their work.

The main character is raised in a farm village until the population is killed by one of the clan lords. He is rescued and adopted by a lord from a rival clan. Later it is discovered that his unknown father was one of the Tribe's greatest assassins. He is torn between his loyalties to his adopted father and his Tribe family.

I just finished the second book, Grass For His Pillow, and am awaiting the third book, due out soon.
