Anybody been to the new branch of the Air & Space Museum just outside of Dulles airport? It looks pretty good and you don't have the hassle of downtown DC like with the main branch. They have one of the space shuttles, a Concorde, and the "Enola Gay".

Here's the link.

I heard someone threw an object at the Enola Gay to make a "statement," is that true.

Oh yes, it's true. A lot of protests. The more reasonable ones just wanted the damage done by the bomb to be displayed along with the aircraft. The nuts threw stuff at the plane and actually damaged it. The worst part was that one of the nut jobs that threw something at the B-29 and was arrested was from.......Hagerstown!

Story here. Amazing. mad.gif

Don't these ppl realize that if the atomic bomb hadn't been dropped the war would've dragged on for more years b/c Japan wouldn't surrender & was going to fight to the death. Plus do these people know how cruel the Japenese were to POW's and the like (not that the Germans were Saints).

If you plan to go, take a van and spread the
parking cost between your passengers. There
is no admission price to the annex, but parking
is $12 !!!
