In matters of international affairs I don't ask for much. I only want all the governments of all the nations of the world to cooperate in providing peace, prosperity and human rights for all the people on Earth.

That will never happen, too many different ideologies. Peace and harmony with all will never be achieved. rolleyes.gif BTW, that website promotes that most far left propaganda that I've ever seen & makes many Democrats look conservative.

Has anyone noticed that alexan is posting the same links as charlezgrant?

All I ask is that the governments of the world not provide aid and sanctuary to those that would harm/kill us and our allies and understand that if they do, they will be harmed/killed themselves.

P.S. - I also ask governments of the world to not let their citizens create screen names for local message boards for the purpose spamming and spreading propaganda.

Is that too much to ask?

Yep, noticed it. Same M.O., too. Post someone elses words and run seems all he/she is capable of.

Interesting how most of you folks avoid dealing with the content of my original post.

As for, "That will never happen, too many different ideologies. Peace and harmony with all will never be achieved."

It is certain that peace and harmony wont be achieved if we don't try.

We have tried, it's called the League of Nations before WWII and then the UN after it. Since the beginning of time there has been war, why do you think all of a sudden we can stop it.
Yossarian
Don't expect much of a response from this poster, WVU-M. I think Snoopy has this person pegged correctly, "Post someone elses words and run seems all he/she is capable of."

Although I think we all would welcome some intelligent discussion of his/her own opinions.

Okay, why not go visit Castro and see if you can convert him to a peaceful, harmonious person. If you can, I'll come on board your bandwagon.
SMan
Speaking of Castro, I rented a good documentary over the weekend called Fog of War about the life of Robert McNamara, the Secretary of Defense through most of the 60's. McNamara talked about how shocked he was when he met Castro in the early 90's and they got to talking about the Cuban missle crisis. Castro admitted that he requested the Russians to use nukes if the US invaded Cuba. He was willing to sacrifice his entire country to prove a point.

Anyway, rent Fog of War if the politics of that time period (especially the beginning of Vietnam) interest you.

As long as the rest of the world becomes part of the United States of America, fine. biggrin.gif I don't think that will or necessarily should happen.

To any notion that we should submit our sovereign nation to the authority of any body, be it the UN, NATO, whatever, I say: FORGET IT!

Let's not forget that we have a unique system of government and a commitment to a set of ideals that thousands have given their lives in support of, that are NOT shared by the rest of the world.
