Hello all. I hope you guys & gals can help.

I live in the city of Hagerstown, and I am preparing to install a fence in my backyard for my doggie.

Question: What is the "standoff" requirement (if any) in Hagerstown between the new fence and my neighbor's property line?

thx

Hey, CMike, I think you're gonna need a permit for that thing. City permits will include all that info when you go get the permit. I believe there are also maximum height requirements for fences.

Sorry I can't help ya' off hand with the info.

Mike, the City of H-town has on it's web page that you'll need a permit, but doesn't go into more specifics. Somewhere buried on the site is an online version of the city code. I tried to sift through it to find your answer, but it's a lot of clicking involved to thumb through it. You're better off just giving them a call in the morning.

You will need a permit. Bring a drawing (stick figure will suffice) but not always needed. and permits start at $65.00, and say hello to Mary she will be the one waiting on you. smile.gif

Actually, the permits are now issued by the planning office. My dogs are getting a new fence too!
