While in the Martinsburg Mall yesterday I found that Hallmark will be displaying their new Christmas ornaments starting July 10! Christmas is how many months off, and they're already going to start showing ornaments! It seems Christmas is coming earlier and earlier every year, like last year when Wal-Mart had the Halloween and Christmas stuff out at the same time. What ever happened to waiting until Thanksgiving week?

It's economics. My mom runs a Hallmark store and I get on her every year about how early the new ornaments "premiere". Hallmark dictates the time frame. They do it so they can sell them out when they premiere, make more, sell out again, repeat.

Really? Who buys them in July? I just think it's ridiculous that the summer isn't even over yet and they're already bringing out the Christmas decorations.

Yes, the collectors buy them. I must admit that I went to Hallmark on Saturday and bought one of the Barbie ornaments that are available. You wait too long and you can't get them.
