Recently, my inner geek escaped and posted for me here a few times, (horror movies and short love affair with the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer), so make me feel better by divulging your nerdy indulgences. Quickly, before someone picks on me and makes me cry. tongue.gif

I don't think geeks listen to Pantera... biggrin.gif

I kinda like it when a girl has a little geeky nerdy look. You know black glasses and put up hair and tight sweather... wink.gif

Since I've been under house arrest I've found tv shows that I never knew existed.I've been watching this teen soap opera "Roswell" on the scf-fi channel at 4pm every day rolleyes.gif And some very "interesting" if not down right strange"foreign" channels that apparently you can get in the DC area.Shows like German and Russian news(in their languages),The Seiks(sp?)which pretty much all they do is sit on the floor and play instruments and sing,Russian and E.Indian music videos.Strange!

-I'm a 31 year old that has all the major video game systems (PS2, xbox, gamecube) and plays them regularly.

-Name an electronic gadget/gizmo and I probably have it, or several of them.

-And I'm now a Buffy addict.

I could go on, but I've shamed myself enough for one day.

SMan, as an expert in console game systems, which one's the best?

Or does it depend on the game?

The biggest WALKER TEXAS RANGER fan ever!!!!!

The biggest American born Toronto Blue Jays fan since 1986!!!!!

Wasting time and money tinkering under the hood of cars.

Using electrical tape on my crappy but lucky blue neck tie so the stoopit small back piece doesn't fly all over.

Getting my crappy but lucky blue neck tie stuck in the closing door of a DC Metro car and proudly sporting it after it looks pretty weird now.

Baking a Auntie Anne's home pack pretzel only to find it was a multipack and not a single pack. The biggest and thickest pretzel ever!!! Imagine a giant cake except its a pretzel, I've made several more after my mistake.

Yoss - It used to depend on the game genres you preferred. My old recommendation was PS2 for sports games (because they were the only one's online capable) and xbox for everything else (because of it's superior graphics and ease of use).

I now say xbox all the way since their graphics are much better and the xbox live service includes everything PS2 had and more. When games are released across multiple consoles, 99.9% of the time, the xbox version is superior.

I keep the gamecube around because Nintendo makes a few outstanding games based on their long time signature characters such as Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., Metroid, etc. Some of these are worth the price of the 'cube just to play them, especially since you can get the system for well under a $100.

How's that for a geeky answer? tongue.gif
WVDragonlady
Oh,and I also like to go play at Renn.Faires! rolleyes.gif tongue.gif
Yossarian
Thanks SMan. Do you have "Halo" for the xbox?

From what I've seen, that game alone is worth the price of admission.
SMan
Yes. Halo was the big Xbox launch title and it's still going strong years later. It's worth the price of the xbox just for that game, and that's not even the best game available. Halo 2 is released in November and is supposed to be even better than the original.

What are you waiting for Yoss? Go grab an Xbox!

-When I load the dishwasher I put all the spoons in one place, all the forks in another, and all the butter knives in another slot. All other cooking utensils go into the fourth

-I watch the BBC

-In my closet I have all of clothes organized by their type

I guess I'm just too anal.
SMan
You sound metrosexual, WVU! laugh.gif

P.S. - it takes one to know one. wink.gif
WVDragonlady
WVU- it doesn't sound anal,it sounds like obsessive-compulseve to me! tongue.gif I'm lucky if I can find what I want to wear from off the closet floor!! laugh.gif (I have WAY too many clothes blink.gif ).

HALO!!!!! I forgot about that one... My first year of college Halo was really bigg and EVERY DAY in January and Feb. we would play 5-8 hours a day while linked up to rooms up and down the dorm. Sixteen players at once in four different rooms was unreal. The best way to use the college network. No way to describe the fun.

We made sure to finish our homework first of course (yeah). I can seriously place some of the blame on HALO for my first roommate failing out of school. My first investment when I return from France will of course be HALO 2!!!!! I just pray it's not too obsessive so it doesn't take away from my snowboarding time.

Hopefully I'm not that bad! biggrin.gif The clothes thing I guess is stupid, but it's so much easier when unloading the dishwasher when everything is in its place.

All of this talk about Halo inspired me to dust off my copy. The next thing I knew it was 2 am!

I'm REALLY gonna be dragging a** today... thanks a lot guys! dry.gif

I know you Halo players have broadband, so pony up the $50 for an xbox live subscription so we can play Halo 2 online when it comes out.

The more players I can find that aren't 12 year olds telling you to suck their you-know-what when they beat you online, the better.

So you'd rather have Greedy and friends telling you that?? ohmy.gif blink.gif tongue.gif
