I have a rust spot on my truck that needs more than just touch-up. Where's the best place to take it for good body work at a fair price?

We talked about this a few months ago....check out this thread:

It's focused more on car repair, but there are several mentions
of auto-body shops...

Sharrett Subaru/VW does the best work IMO around Hagerstown, although I may be a little biased because my friend's father works there. My family has had body work done there twice (not because of collisions, stoopit door dings) and a neighbor's almost totaled Tundra was fixed there perfectly.

I've also heard good things about Chuck's Auto Body, but I've never used that place or even know where it is.

I agree. They do wonderful work at Sharrett... especially when compared to a company in H'town that rhymes with Amilton Issan. J They did the worst job ever on a car that I wrecked 3 years ago. They basically glued my right headlight in place because they couldn’t finger out how to mount/position it correctly. Schmucks... I took it back to the shop four times to get it fixed right, and I still wasn’t satisfied.

Moral to the story, take your car to a shop that is recommended by your insurance company.

I've used Mace and Hub City Auto Body. Both did recommendable work (slight edge to Mace), but Hub City always fit me in almost immediately and Mace was backed up like a month.

Although Sharrett's sales staff is not my favorite, their body shop is top tier.

A young lady I know was hit from behind (a car collision Greedy) and her car was damaged very badly. This happened well over a month ago and her car is still sitting untouched not due to insurance at a place CommuterMike gave his rhyming hint identifying. That place also gave my friend the wrong Nissan touch up paint twice when he provided the part #.

I have heard good things about Mace, Hub City, and Chucks.

I hear good things about Blain's (sp?) too

Sounds like my dealings with Sharrett to a "t"... wink.gif dry.gif

I have used Blaine's Body Shop and sent friends there and always a GREAT JOB...
get prices and I bet Blaine's will beat any of them and look better.
