President Bush is planning to make a pit stop at Hedgesville High (why would he chose to go there) Tuesday. Here's an article from the Herald http://www.herald-mail.com/?module=display...749&format=html. This morning they had a line outside the Republican office on Queen St (from what I've been told) to get tickets. Anybody planning on going? Snoopy? Phish?

I would love to go. But unfortunately I have to work. sad.gif

Take pictures whoever gets to go from the forum.

Helicopters were flying the area on Thurs. and Marine one did a trial landing at the school. rolleyes.gif
Great!,I guess traffic will be ALL screwed up cuz it goes right beside the school on Rt.9 rolleyes.gif
I'm not going anywhere near there not because of anything political, just because of the cluster-*uck to ensue.
I wonder if they know about the over-look on the mountain on Dry Run Rd.? More than likely. wink.gif smile.gif

As much as I don't support the ideas and many decisions of GW, I had tix to the show but gave them to a friend since I have better things to do. He thinks he might be arrested if 'they' find out he's Democrat. He'll enjoi hearing him try to speak much more than I would.

You know Kerry will probably be close behind if Bushie is stopping here.

I'm sure Snoopaloop has tickets, probably box seats. Don't wear a Kerry/Edwards shirt if you're going to sabotage PHISH. I've heard rumors of arrests for trespassing if you flaunt the other candidates' paraphenalia (Kerry and most politicians probably do this too).
SMan
PHISH would be herded to a "free speech zone". And yes, both candidates do it.

Air Force one landed in my backyard. Literally!!!!

Check out the photos I took.
Air Force One in my backyard!!!

That's pretty cool, Rom! Looks like you're really close to the airport.

My office is adjacent to the Hagerstown Airport, so we get treated to Presidential landings every so often, when he's on his way to Camp David. Of course HGR can't handle that AF One, we get the smaller jet here.

Thanks for sharing!

Romulus, it appears that AF1 approached from the north
and then departed towards the south, right ??

I was hoping to grab a photo of it departing, hoping it
would climb slowly and arc around south of my house,
but I guess they had other plans, 'cause I never saw it.
Did it climb pretty steepily and in what direction did it
leave the valley ? I guess if I still lived in Inwood I might
have had a better chance of seeing it. I have seen the
C-5 come in and leave before...that thing is HUGE !!!

Edit: now that I looked a little more closely, it appears
that it departed towards the north...no wonder I didn't
see anything !!!

So, did any posters go?

I wished they'd get that runway extension done in Hagerstown. I'd love to see the real AF1 (the 747) land.

Paging momsapilot....will we have enough room for the big boy AF1 when the runway's done?
Snoopy
I'd love to see the security features AF1 carries. It's gotta be impressive! Especially considering the proliferation of shoulder-fired missles among the scum of the world. Of course, I guess they'd have to kill me if they showed me, so maybe I don't want to know. blink.gif

Sman, MRB's long runway is 7000 ft, so yes, HGR should be able to accomodate it under ideal conditions. Maximum weight for that sucker is 883,000 lbs!! I don't think we can handle it at max, but as long as they don't refuel, I don't see why not.
