I'm really po'ed with NBC. They keep drawing out the most enticing events so far that I have to choose to either miss the dramatic conclusion or go through the workday like a total zombie!

As I heard this morning, Paul Hamm made an absolutely STUNNING comeback to take the Gold Medal in the men's gymnastics all-around competition, as shown on TV LATE last night. A competition that NBC certainly knew we would all be watching closely. But the way they set up their programming, I was falling asleep in my easy chair before they were even halfway through the competition! Same thing the night before with the women's gymnastics team competition!

I know that they do this to get the big ratings, but come on! Employers and employees alike ought to be outraged ... who can function at work after staying up until after midnight just because NBC is pulling this kind of stunt? Not I, nor a lot of other folks I've talked to at work this week.

I say give the customers what they want at a time when they can enjoy it. Quit giving us half the story by showing the conlusions long after bedtime! I won't even get into the shamefulness of this when we think of our kids wanting to watch the events. School starts next week, and we CANNOT have them staying up 'til midnight on school nights! So will they have to miss the best parts just because NBC is playing this ratings game? Probably so.

I missed what's being touted as the greatest comeback in the history of the modern Olympics, and the first ever gold medal in this competition by an American. I am NOT HAPPY!!

I agree BMIC!!
Also I,myself would also like to see most of the other countries atheletes winning. NOT just when the US does. rolleyes.gif The only venues that you get to see other winners is the swimming. And then you don't get to see any medal ceremonies?!?
Sorry, but I don't really care to see Katie and Matt act like children, jumping, and swimming, and giggling around and of Katie SHOPPING! WHO CARES!!! rolleyes.gif

I think that this has been some of the worse coverage of the Games in a long time. But unfortunately this is what we're stuck with. sad.gif

I haven't been watching hardly at all yet I've seen medal ceremonies. The one with Phelps mouthing the words to the national anthem.

True. But during the time I spend watching the recordings, I'm missing something on TV! Especially since you never know what they're showing when.

Of course they did it to us again last night. But I somehow managed to stay conscious enough to catch about half of the events after about 10:00 p.m. It helped that my daughter was at a friend's house so she wasn't there to complain about my snoring every time I passed out. biggrin.gif
