Spring Jazz Series: Through June 14

Stephen Haynes, the noted cornetist, trumpeter and composer and Connecticut resident, and his ensemble, Pomegranate, open Firehouse 12's Spring Jazz Series Friday, March 15, at 8:30 and 10 p.m. at the celebrated cutting-edge citadel at 45 Crown St., New Haven. Running through June 14 on consecutive Friday nights, the the lineup is:

Matthew Shipp Trio, March 22; Lisa Mezzacappa Trio featuring Fay Victor, March 29; Tomas Fujiwara and The Hookup, April 5; Conference Call: Fonda, Ullmann, Stevens and Schuller, April 12; Dan Tepfer and Ben Wendel Duo, April 19; and Wayne Escoffery Quintet, April 26.<br>
Also, Craig Taborn Trio, May 3; Jeremy Pelt Sextet, May 10; Armen Donelian Trio, May 17; Memorize the Sky: Matt Bauder, Aaron Siegel, Zach Wallace, May 24; Dave Douglas Quintet, May 31; Amina Figarova Sextet, June 7; and Ches Smith and These Arches, June 14.

Each concert features sets at 8:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets for all events are $18 for the opening set and $12 for the second set.
