( JOHN WOIKE/SPECIAL TO THE COURANT / June 11, 2010 ) Sean Burke came from the Devils in a trade for Bobby Holik. Hockey Digest called Burke "the franchise for the Devils, and to whatever heights he rises, the Devils will rise with him." Burke did not disappoint in his six-year tenure with the team. He is the Whalers franchise leader in games played by a goaltender (256) and was voted the team's Most Valuable Player from '93-'97. Burke retired in 2007 and is currently the goaltending coach for the Phoenix Coyotes. |
