( MARK MIRKO / May 30, 2008 ) Jim Calhoun shows reporters a scar on the right side his neck where a mass of squamous cell cancer was removed May 6. Jeffrey Sprio, M.D. of the UConn Health Center performed the surgery that removed the cancer, a small portion of adjacent parotid salivary gland and 37 additional lymph nodes. Calhoun will begin Tomotherapy radiation treatments next month but has been declared cancer free. |
