Knik Glacier Wreckage Is From Military Crash That Killed 52

The Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command says wreckage found on Colony Glacier, near Knik Glacier, earlier this month is from the crash of an Air Force C-124 Globemaster II, similar to this one, on Nov. 22, 1952 that killed all 52 people on board. The C-124 could carry 68,500 pounds of cargo or 200 passengers on two decks, making it the Air Force's primary heavy-lift transport into the 1960s.
