Washington County Health Deparment is hosting a free orientation and seminar on Emotional Brain Training (EBT) 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 8, at Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

EBT helps participants outline five common states of the emotional brain. The class trains people to switch their brains back to a state of well-being or acceptance.

Training for Frederick County grants set
Frederick, Md. — The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County will begin accepting grant applications for this year’s grant awards on Monday, Jan. 10.
This year’s grant application process is online through the Women’s Giving Circle website, www.womensgivingcircleof fred.org. Potential grantees must attend the grants submission training from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at C. Burr Artz Library Community Room, 110 E. Patrick St., downtown Frederick.

Service scheduled to mourn lost children
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Resolve Through Sharing candlelight memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the King Street United Brethren Church, 162 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. The guest speaker for the event will be Chris Jackson, “Wesley’s Dad.”
Resolve Through Sharing is a national organization that provides support for parents and families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or newborn death.
In the event that this service is canceled due to weather, the snow date is Tuesday, Jan. 25.
