Area youth are invited to dig into the past in a new Summer Institute program offering from Renfrew Institute.

"Digging Isn't Everything: Working with Artifacts in Archaeology," is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 21, at Renfrew Park in Waynesboro.
Scott Parker, a professional archaeologist, will be the instructor for the new program.
Parker will help students learn how to clean, identify and record several types of artifacts discovered during excavations at the 18th-century John Bourns farm near Waynesboro.
The program is for youths completing grades six through 12. Registration is limited to 10 participants, and the registration deadline is Monday, July 11.
The cost is $25; $20 each for Renfrew Institute members.
