Shepherdstown, W.Va. — Jala Yoga at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar, 117 W. German St. in Shepherdstown, announces several events during the month of December.
• On Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m., health coach Lindsey Little teaches a “Sugar Blues” workshop, for people who constantly crave sweets. She will give practical ways to help control their cravings and learn ways to improve energy and stabilize moods. The class costs $30.
• On Friday, Dec. 14, from 8 to 9:45 pm, Christa Mastrangelo Joyce teaches “Yoga After Dark.” She will lead students in a yin yoga practice that has a special focus on the digestive system and will conclude with a one-hour “yoga nidra” practice, designed to facilitate better concentration, memory and the ability to focus. This program costs $10.

• Many of the regularly scheduled classes during the week of Monday, Dec. 10, will be available by donation, with proceeds going toward helping a local family during the holidays. Donation classes will be at 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10; 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11; 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12; and noon Thursday, Dec. 13. Students may take any of these classes for whatever donation amount they choose.
• All morning classes will be free from Wednesday, Dec. 26, to Tuesday, Jan. 1. Class cards are also on sale during the entire month of December, for $5 off one card and $10 off the purchase of a second card.
