1. Celebrating the King

"A Tribute to Elvis' 78th Birthday" will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Hancock Performing Arts Center, 126 W. High St., Hancock. Area musicians will perform some of Elvis' greatest hits. A hip-shaking contest will be held. Refreshments will include Elvis' favorite snacks. Free, donations accepted. Call 301-678-5719 or email sinclairhamilton@verizon.net.

2. New year for dancing

Country Western Dance Association will hold its first dance of the new year. Line dancing for singles and couples from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in the former Quincy School gym, 7888 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Pa. $7; $5 members. Email tdavis1856@yahoo.com.
