The team, 420Q, was named Maryland State Champion for the second year in a row and overall Grand Champion in the Pork in the Park BBQ Festival held April 20-22, in Salisbury, Md.

Jay Reeder, owner and pitmaster of Hempen Hill BBQ and 420Q, competed against 113 professional barbecue competition teams at the nation's second largest Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned event.
Reeder took first place in chicken, third place in ribs, ninth place in brisket and No. 1 overall. In addition to the KCBS standings, Reeder also took for the second year in a row the No. 1 Maryland State BBQ Champion and Smithfield Farm Pork Rib Champion award.
Hempen Hill BBQ is at 13208 Fountainhead Plaza in Hagerstown.
