Bill and Dorothea Chatkin of Hagerstown celebrated thier 50th wedding anniversary April 14, 2012. Their children, Aaron and his wife, Dawn, of Gastonia, N.C., and Elizabeth, and her husband, Matt, held a surprise party at Elizabeth and Matt’s home in Maugansville. Many friends and family were present.
The Chatkins were married April 14, 1962. Mr. Chatkin retired as a pharmacist in 2005. Mrs. Chatkin worked for the Washington County Board of Education as a teacher at North Hagerstown High School for 26 years.
The Chatkins have four grandchildren, Sarah, Natalie, Keri and Jake Scallion of Maugansville.
