T.C. and Genevieve Herbst of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in the Fellowship Hall of Covenant Presbyterian Church. The buffet dinner was catered by Savory of Waynesboro, Pa., and hosted by their sons.
The Herbsts were married Saturday, Sept. 22, 1962, in a candlelight ceremony in Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Cavetown. The Rev. Dale R. Groff officiated at the ceremony. Asher S. H. Edelman was organist and John W. Whitmore was soloist.
Mr. Herbst is the son of the late Theophilus C. Sr. and Katherine Herbst. Mrs. Herbst is the daughter of the late C. Lester and Ruth Burgesser.
The Herbsts have three sons, Derrick of Lexington, S.C.; Sterling and wife, Sara, of Massanutten, Va.; and Kyle of Hagerstown.
They have three grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda and Jake.
