Mr. and Mrs. John C. Koontz Sr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 8, 2012. They were married in 1952 in the parsonage at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
Mrs. Koontz is the former Anna Jean Showe. Mr. Koontz is an Army veteran having served 18 months in Korea. Until his retirement, he was the owner of Koontz Lathing and Plastering for 50 years.
John and Jean raised two sons, John Jr. of Williamsport, and David of Hagerstown, whose spouse is Chris. They also are proud of their three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John and Anna Jean also celebrated their 80th birthdays in 2012.
