Four titles for 2013 will be awarded: Miss Washington County, Miss Washington County Outstanding Teen, Miss Western Maryland, and Miss Western Maryland Outstanding Teen.

Contestants will compete in one of two levels: Miss and Outstanding Teen. Miss contestants must be between 17 and 24 years old, and teens must be 13 to 17 years old, but not a high school senior. Those competing for a Washington County title must live, work, or attend school in Washington County. There are five phases of competition: talent, private interview, physical fitness in swimsuit for the Miss and in sportswear for the Teens, evening wear, and onstage question.
Scholarship awards have not yet been determined for 2013.
In order to compete, interested contestants must attend an orientation at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in Hagerstown. Professional photos will be taken, and pageant details will be discussed. A parent may attend. Registration is required..
The organization also sponsors a princess program for girls ages 5 to 12. This is a mentoring non-competition program for these girls to share in the production and events during the year. Only a few spots remain for this program. For more information, go to washctymdpageant.webs.com. An orientation for the princesses also will be held in January.
