The Mitchells celebrate 50 years

Roy and Virginia Mitchell of State Line, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 8, 2012. They were married in 1962 at the Milford EUB Church with the Rev. Lloyd Mulhollem officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell is the daughter of the late Lewis and Blanche Miller. She graduated in 1961 from Rockwood Joint High School and retired after driving a school bus for 12 years for the Greencastle-Antrim School District.

Mr. Mitchell is the son of the late Leroy and Goldie Mitchell. He graduated in 1957 from Somerset Area High School, served four-and-a-half years in the U.S. Navy, and worked at Mack Trucks for 30 1/2 years before retiring in 1994.
The Mitchells have two daughters, Amy Spencer and her husband David of Greencastle, Pa., and Sherry Mitchell of Roy, Wash., and two grandsons, Kyle and Ian Spencer.
The Mitchells celebrated their anniversary on Nov. 3 with family and friends at the State Line Community Center. They took a cruise through New England and Nova Scotia. They also visited Sight and Sound in Lancaster, Pa., to see a performance of “Jonah.”
