Some railroad crossings will be closed beginning today for work on the track.
Burlington Northern Railroad will have crews picking up rail along the main line track throughout city limits today through Friday, according to the Aberdeen Public Works Department. Work will be from east to west from Brown County 14 through State Street. In order to load the rail, crossings will need to be closed for periods of time. It is anticipated that only one crossing at a time will be closed.
Motorists are to be advised that alternative routes may become necessary during this time period. Work will be done as quickly as possible in order to minimize the disruption of normal traffic patterns.
