Ag Expo and Fair 2012, which will be held July 21 to 28, will feature an AG Ventures Learning Center.
It will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Ag Expo.
It is a children’s agricultural learning tent and features interactive and hands-on activities. It will showcase several attractions designed for children and adults.
AG Ventures Learning Center Schedule:
Sunday, July 22 — from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — EFNEP, or Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program, will present “Healthy Drinks,” an educational exhibit and interactive display about the contents of drinks and making healthy choices in the heat of the summer.
Tuesday, July 24 — from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.— Chewsville Community 4-H Club will provide a variety of hands-on crafts, games and activities to entertain and educate young and old alike.
Thursday, July 26 — from 1 to 5 p.m. — Saddles and Spurs 4-H Horse and Pony Club will provide horse-related activities, including creating and racing your own stick horse.
Saturday, July 28 — from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — EFNEP will present “Healthy Drinks,” an educational exhibit and interactive display about the contents of drinks and making healthy choices in the heat of the summer.
Additional crafts, games and activities will be provided on nonspecified days.
Ag Ventures is made possible by the efforts of many individuals and organizations, including the Ag Expo and Fair Committee, local 4-H Clubs, Washington County Farm Bureau, Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission, Agricultural Marketing and the University of Maryland Extension Programs.
