The scholarship committee of the board of directors of the Dr. J. Elmer Harp Medical Center Inc. has announced that scholarship applications are available for the 2013 award cycle.
Three scholarships in the amount of $9,000 each will be awarded. Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a career in the medical/health field who live in the Middletown Valley geographic area.
Two scholarships in the amounts of $9,000 each will be awarded by the Dr. J. Elmer Harp Family Memorial Scholarship fund.
The scholarships were established by the estate of Miss Jane Harp in honor of her father, Dr. Harp, who served the medical needs of the Middletown Valley for more than 50 years.
One scholarship in the amount of $9,000 will be awarded by the Gloria M. “Stretch” Grossnickle Scholarship Fund. The fund was established by William H. Browning Jr. to honor Grossnickle, a charter member of the board of directors of the Harp Medical Center.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be residents of the Middletown Valley geographic area, presently enrolled in a college or university or a senior in high school who has applied to one or more post-secondary institutions, and must be pursuing a career in the medical/health field.
