Hagerstown city officials Sunday night were examining the exterior of Discovery Station at Hagerstown Inc., after a piece of marble fell from the outside of the building, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.
A Hagerstown Police Department officer noticed the fallen piece of marble and a Hagerstown Fire Department official went to the building at the corner of Summit Avenue and West Washington Street at 8:40 p.m., the supervisor said.
Officials were waiting at 9:21 p.m. for a building inspector to come to the building to take a closer look, the supervisor said.
