Edcamp is coming to Washington County Public Schools for the first time, a concept described as an “unconference,” for educators.
The professional development opportunity allows participants to bring their own topics and create discussion groups comprised of people with similar topic interests. Edcamp does not have featured speakers and paid presenters, and there is no charge for registrants.
The conference will be held at Antietam Academy on Oak Ridge Drive in Hagerstown on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees fill a discussion board with topics during the first hour of registration and organization, and then split into groups based on mutual interest in the posted topics.
Organizers say registrants are coming from Washington County and numerous jurisdictions outside the county.
