Councilwoman Ashley Haywood heads up the project’s garden in Hager Park. This past season, volunteers built a series of raised beds and produced tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, broccoli and more despite dry conditions.

Volunteers who work in the garden for two hours per week get a share of whatever the garden yields.

A planning meeting will take place later in February. Individuals interested in volunteering may call 301-739-8577, ext. 116, or e-mail diginhagerstown@hagerstownmd.org.
