All Washington County government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Parks: County parks will be open and the swimming pool at Martin L. “Marty” Snook Memorial Park will be open from noon to 6 p.m.
County Commuter: County Commuter Transit services will not operate Monday. Operation will resume Tuesday.
Landfill: The 40-West Landfill and all transfer stations will be closed Monday, but will operate on a normal schedule Tuesday.
County commissioners: The Washington County Board of Commissioners will not meet Tuesday, Sept. 4, due to the Labor Day holiday.
Emergency operations: Public safety and emergency personnel will perform duties as required.
City of Hagerstown
City offices will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. The offices will reopen Tuesday.
A determination about whether a Hagerstown City Council meeting will be held Tuesday won’t be made until later this week, city Clerk Donna Spickler said.
Trash collection for the week will be pushed back one day. For example, trash that is typically collected on Monday will be collected Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be made Wednesday, etc.
Chamber of Commerce
The Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Maryland state offices
Most state offices are closed Friday for a Service Reduction Plan Day, and Saturday and Monday in observance of Labor Day.
DLLR: All Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation locations will be closed to the public from Friday to Monday. Unemployment insurance telephone and Web operations will be available Friday.
MVA: The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration’s full-service and express offices will be closed Friday for a state Service Reduction Plan Day, and Saturday and Monday in observance of Labor Day.
All Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations will be closed from Friday to Monday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that all driver’s license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday to Monday in observance of Labor Day.
U.S. Postal Service
All post offices in the Baltimore District — comprised of ZIP codes beginning with 210 to 219 — will be closed Monday.
Delivery is limited to Express Mail in the major metropolitan area.

Monday is a bank holiday.
