The Smithsburg Lions Club recently conducted its annual Vision Day program at the Food Lion grocery store in Smithsburg.
Members distributed candy to patrons and collected donations for the Wilmer Eye Institute, which is at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
The Wilmer Eye Institute has long been recognized for bringing together ophthalmologists consistently ranked by their peers as among the finest internationally, with a specially trained and highly experienced team of nurses.
Many of the researchers are involved in developing new treatments for eye diseases diagnosis and treatment.
The Smithsburg Lions Club serves the surrounding communities.
