Hagerstown Police have charged a man with trying to rob a local gas station Monday morning.
A masked man entered the BP station at 1760 Dual Highway at about 1:54 a.m., police said in a news release.
The robber displayed a knife and approached a clerk behind the counter. The clerk struggled with the robber, who suffered a cut on his hand and then left, police said.
A police K-9 followed a blood trail to an apartment on Edgewood Hill Circle, near the intersection of Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive.
A suspect — Kiley Steven Dusza, 22, who has no fixed address — was arrested and taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment of an injury that was not life-threatening, police said.
When Dusza was released from the hospital, he was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
Dusza was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a concealed dangerous weapon and having a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
