The annual Maple Sugar Festival at Claud E. Kitchens Outdoor School at Fairview will be Saturday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will feature maple-sugaring demonstrations, a bluegrass band and children’s activities.
There is no charge for admission and activities.
A pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. will be served in the dining hall, sponsored by the Clear Spring Elementary School Green Club.
Tickets for the breakfast are available for purchase by calling Clear Spring Elementary School at 301-766-8074.
The Clear Spring High School FFA and FFA Alumni will sell soda, water and baked goods.
Maryland maple sugar products also will be available for purchase.
To get to the school, take exit 18 off Interstate 70 at Clear Spring. Go north into Clear Spring on Md. 68. Turn left on U.S. 40 and continue one block. Turn right at the traffic light on Martin Street. At the end of Martin Street, turn right on Broadfording Road and travel approximately 100 yards. Turn left on Draper Road. The entrance to the outdoor school is about one-third of a mile from the intersection on the left.
