GREENCASTLE, Pa.—Mason-Dixon BBQ Services invites local cooks to enter a chicken wing competition from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army Christmas Program to provide Christmas presents to children in need in Franklin County, Pa., and Washington County.
Mason-Dixon BBQ is at 1542 Buchanan Trail East, Greencastle, Pa. The public is invited to attend and help judge the competition.
Prizes including $250 cash, $100 in gift cards and free admission to future mason Dixon events will be awarded in three categories.
Only 20 amateur or professional teams will be accepted. Registrations must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 4. Registration costs $25. Teams may enter more than one flavor of wing, but must pay $25 for each entry. Teams will receive 10 pounds of wings, split and tipped, free for each entry into the competition.
Wings do not have to be cooked on site, although cooking on site is an option.
Teams must supply all wing ingredients, serving personnel and serving equipment. A heated tent, electricity and water will be available on site.
