Clark Mayer was presented the 2012 Marine of the Year Award by the Antietam Chapter of the Marine Corps League on Nov. 10 at Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion in Hagerstown.
Jim Mills, commandant of Antietam Chapter, said Mayer went beyond the call of duty to keep the league informed, raising more than $10,000 for charity, and always being available when asked.
The group celebrated the U.S. Marines’ 237th birthday.
