Frederick man charged with assault
A Frederick, Md., man was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault after he allegedly assaulted another driver Monday morning on Md. 65, according to Maryland State Police.
Gery Graig Jordan, 54, also was charged with several traffic offenses, according to a news release.
At about 10:35 a.m., troopers responded to Md. 65 north of Interstate 70 for a reported road-rage incident, the release said.
Trooper 1st Class David Thompson arrived and discovered that a white 1985 Oldsmobile Royale being driven by Jordan attempted to run a green 1998 Ford Ranger off the road several times, the release said.
The Ranger was being driven by Luke Nathaniel Turner, 25, of Sharpsburg, the release said.
Jordan stopped in the roadway, exited his car and assaulted Turner with his fist and a walking stick, the release said.
Jordan was taken to the Washington County Central Booking Unit for processing, the release said.
