Driver falls asleep at wheel, crashes on I-70 in Pa.
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — A 17-year-old driver was taken to Bedford (Pa.) Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon after she fell asleep at the wheel on I-70 near Crystal Springs, Pa., and her vehicle hit a guard rail, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.
The driver, whose name was not released, was headed east on I-70 in a 2008 Toyota Prius when the crash happened at about 12:55 p.m., police said. She failed to negotiatiate a curve to the right, traveled across the left lane and into a guard rail, and came to rest in the median, police said.
Breezewood Fire Department, Breezewood Fire Police, Raystown Ambulance Company, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Fischer’s Towing assisted at the scene, police said.
Owner of bicycle found in Fayetteville sought
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — A Fayetteville, Pa. homeowner found a blue Schwinn bicycle Thursday afternoon in the bushes along Lincoln Way East, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release. The bicycle was found in the 6700 block, police said.
Police encouraged the owner of the bicycle to call Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg at 717-264-5161.
Three face charges in prostitution sting
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Three women were charged with prostitution in Martinsburg this week after police conducted a sting operation in the downtown area, the Martinsburg Police Department said Thursday.
Autumn B. Kackley, 20, of 1272 Rock Cliff Drive, and Blair N. Miller, 30, of 4199 Winchester Ave., Apt. 1, both of Martinsburg, were charged with prostitution first offense, according to Martinsburg Police Detective J.D. Luciano.
Anna M. Rice, 51, of 311 1/2 W. King St., Apt. 4, Martinsburg, was charged with prostitution second offense, according to Luciano.
The prostitution sting was conducted on Wednesday by officers with the police department and a confidential informant. The informant was monitored by police visually and with recording equipment, police said.
Two treated after pickup truck rolls over in crash
Two people who were in a pickup truck when it rolled over Wednesday night on Burnside Bridge Road near Churchy Road south of Sharpsburg were taken to Meritus Medical Center, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
The driver of the pickup, Brian David Fink, 22, and his passenger, Kristin Nicole Lee, 23, were injured when the pickup rolled over at about 9:45 p.m., a deputy said
The addresses of the injured were unavailable.
Fink was not listed as a patient Thursday morning, while Lee was listed in a fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Pa. man charged with stealing six-pack
WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Adam Shaffer of Greencastle, Pa., was charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing a six-pack of beer from Waynesboro’s Pizza Hut on Tuesday, Waynesboro police said in a news release.
Shaffer took the beer from the cooler, ran toward Burns Hill Cemetery and went into a home at 242 Hawbaker Ave., police said.
Shaffer was also charged with violating parole, police said.
Woman charged with assault, disorderly conduct
WAYNESBORO, Pa. —Waynesboro police said this week a woman banged her head off the divider and kicked at the bars in the windows of a police cruiser June 22 when she was arrested.
Amber Duenas, 24, no address given, was charged with public drunkenness, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and simple assault, police said.
Police said she argued with a man at 543 Pratt Court.
