Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Business Services Division will offer two courses for certified pool operators this winter.
The first course, “Certified Pool Operator,” will be held Mondays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning March 4 and ending March 25. The course prepares students to take the Maryland State Health Department exam to become a certified pool operator. Fee is $125. Participants must be 16 years or older to take the course.
The second course, “Certified Pool Operator Update,” will be offered Wednesday, March 20, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and will provide existing certified pool and spa operators with updated information regarding the same operation of public swimming pools, spas and hot tubs. Topics include a review of current policies and procedures, changes to existing laws, and the responsibilities of operators. The course is required by the Maryland Department of Health. Fee is $46.
All classes will be held in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.
