Local sportsmen and women will gather Nov. 9 at Actors Hill in Keedysville for Shoot for a Cure to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Event Chairwoman Linda Gossweiler has been raising funds for cystic fibrosis for almost 20 years and is excited about this new event.
“Shoot for a Cure introduces CF to a new audience in Frederick and Washington counties,” she said.
“Everyone that we have asked for help has been so generous, whether it’s with sponsorship, guidance or connections, and we now have new members of our CF Support Community.”
Matt Warner of Warner Services and Alan Mullendore of M&T Bank are two community leaders who now are part of the cystic fibrosis support community and organizing the event.
The event begins with registration, followed by lunch provided by Fat Pat’s Barbecue. Following lunch, a true “shotgun” start will begin at “high noon.”
Participants will experience several different stations and take aim at a total of 100 targets. Along with the clays course, there will be shooting games, raffle items, silent auction and other activities.
