INDIANAPOLIS —The Smithsburg High School FFA Chapter captured a bronze emblem in the Agricultural Issues Forum at the 85th National FFA Convention, which was Oct. 24-27 in Indianapolis.
The FFA members who represented the chapter in the competition included Matt Lewis, Morgan Nicely, Hannah Rohrer and Justin Martin. The chapter advisers are Lee Ruark and Lynda Dominick. Karen Martin is the team coach.
Agricultural Issues Forum is one of 24 career development event areas, covering job skills in everything from communications to mechanics. FFA members present on a current issue facing agriculture to local community groups prior to competing in the national event.
