Chambersburg Mayor Pete Lagiovane signed a proclamation Monday declaring a local state of emergency in the Borough of Chambersburg. This will help bring emergency aid to the Borough and coordinate the municipal response, according to a news release.

All recreation events are canceled for Monday and Tuesday in the borough, but regular trash pick-up was expected to continue as scheduled, the news release stated.

No decision had been made for Chambersburg's trick-or-treat Wednesday.

"We do anticipate that there will be some flooding in low-lying areas. If your basement floods, the borough's Emergency Services Department will likely be too busy to pump it out at this time. However, the Borough's Service Center will maintain a list of all basements that may need to be pumped out; call (717) 263-4111 to be added to that list," the news release stated.
