Two men were charged in connection with a burglary Monday morning on Cumberland Street, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Ronald Elwood Maners, 20, 41 S. Martin St., Clear Spring, and Brandon James Maners, 18, 907 Oak St., Hagerstown, were each charged with fourth-degree burglary and trespassing, according to a news release.
Brandon Maners is also facing a theft charge, police said.
The two men were charged after police responded to 151 Cumberland St., for a burglary at 11:48 a.m., the release said.
Two males entered a laundry room of a residential building and authorities were told one of them had a handgun, the release said.
Ronald Elwood Maners and Brandon James Maners were at the scene when deputies arrived, the release said.
Brandon Maners had a stolen black BB pistol, the release said.
Clear Spring High School, Clear Spring Middle School and Clear Spring Elementary School were on modified lockdown while deputies dealt with the situation, said sheriff’s office spokeswoman Carly Hose.
