The youngest boy was partially ejected from the Dodge Caravan his mother was driving as a result of the crash.

Brode lost control of the vehicle while was driving toward Luther Jones Road, according to police.

Anderson said he was told the boys were not wearing seat belts. The curvy road was wet and that is suspected to have been a factor in the crash, according to Anderson.

The accident was reported at 4:34 p.m., according to a Jefferson County emergency communications supervisor.
