ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
Members of a Bethel-based unit of the Alaska Army National Guard will be honored at an Anchorage ceremony following a year-long deployment to Afghanistan.
Officials say more than 120 soldiers with B Company, 1-143rd Infantry Airborne Regiment will be honored at the event scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Dena'ina Convention Center.
Officials say Governor Sean Parnell will speak at the event. Also, three Bronze Star Medals and a Purple Heart Medal will be presented.
The soldiers returned to the U.S. in November.
