“The snowstorm that has gripped our state for the last 48 hours will be winding down tonight. But our state, county and city public works crews will need time to continue to clear the roads as well as parking lots and sidewalks. This delay will give them time to ensure safe travel in the morning and ample parking and safe access to all state office buildings,” Governor Brownback said.
The delay in opening the offices will affect non-essential Executive Branch employees scheduled to return to work between 6:00 am and 10:00 am on Friday, February 22, 2013. This extends the Governor’s earlier decision to close all Executive Branch offices until 6:00 a.m. Friday.
Agency secretaries and other Executive Branch appointing authorities outside of Shawnee County may determine to extend the delay beyond 10:00 a.m. based on local conditions.
This declaration does not include employees in the Board of Regents, Regents Institutions, the Judicial Branch, nor the Legislative Branch of Government. Their designated representative will make a separate declaration for those employees if appropriate.
