The Washington County Business Awards Committee has announced the finalists for the 14th Annual Washington County Business Awards to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Hager Hall Conference and Event Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
The event is co-hosted by the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce and the Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission.
The black-tie-optional event begins with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. followed by a banquet dinner at 6:15 p.m. Pieter Bickford will emcee the program, and comedian & magician Michael Kent will entertain the audience prior to the awards portion of the evening.
The award finalists, selected from a pool of more than 125 nominees, are listed below by category and in alphabetical order:
At Your Service: Awarded to a Washington County retail or service business for undertaking actions that generates customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Going Green Award: Awarded to a Washington County business that integrates environmentally friendly operating practices and procedures.

Large Business of the Year Award (50+ employees): Awarded to a Washington County business that has demonstrated any or all of the following: product or service quality, job creation, innovation, strong community involvement, high standard in business practice, commitment to Washington County and the community.

• Potomac Edison, a FirstEnergy Company
Small Business of the Year Award (below 50 employees): Awarded to a Washington County business that has demonstrated any or all of the following: product or service quality, job creation, innovation, strong community involvement, high standard in business practice, commitment to Washington County and the community.

Leading Edge Award: Awarded to a Washington County business that leverages technology to advance their organization. Non-Profit Award: Recognizes and honors a 501c3 organization with a Washington County based Board of Directors that provides exemplary services and/or programs. The recipient receives an unrestricted grant of $1,000, made possible by the Community Foundation of Washington County, Maryland.

Washington Co. Business Person of the Year: Awarded to a Washington County business person who, during the last year, has demonstrated excellence in business, enhanced the image of the business community and/or has provided superior service to business and the community as a whole.
