Two vehicles, including a school bus, were involved in an accident Friday morning on the 700 block of Northern Avenue just east of Fountaindale Elementary School.
Nobody was injured, according to Officer Curtis Kelley of the Hagerstown Police Department.
The accident happened when a Chevrolet TrailBlazer collided with the back of Bus No. 398 from the Washington County Board of Education, Kelley said.
There were no passengers on the school bus, Kelley said.
The radiator in the TrailBlazer burst, causing antifreeze to leak from the vehicle, Kelley said. Firefighters from the Hagerstown Fire Department put absorbent down where it leaked.
The front bumper was knocked off the TrailBlazer. Only minor damage was done to the back of the bus, according to Kelley.
As a precautionary measure,Bus No. 398 will not take any students to school this morning , Kelley said.
Police responded to the accident at 7:05 a.m. Friday and blocked off the westbound side of Northern Avenue. The road reopened after the TrailBlazer was towed and the scene was cleared at 7:50 a.m.
