WILLIAMSPORT, Md.—A Fairplay man has been charged with robbing the Williamsport Pharmacy, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Bradley Steven Lapp, 42, of 8617 Sharpsburg Pike, Apt. B, was charged with robbery, deputies said.
Deputies said they were called to the pharmacy Saturday after employees there reported that a man told them he had a gun and wanted narcotic pills.
However, the man later said he did not have a gun and the pharmacist did not give him pills, deputies said. The man fled in a tan van.
At about the same time, Maryland State Police were responding to a call about a stolen 2003 Chevrolet Venture van at 8617 Sharpsburg Pike.
Lapp returned to the Sharpsburg Pike address with the van at about 9:30 a.m., deputies said. People at the residence detained Lapp until the investigating state trooper came back and arrested him, deputies said.
Lapp also was charged with first-degree burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft greater than $1,000, first- and second-degree assault, and attempted theft of less than $100.
